What to Expect at Your First Visit

At Smilecreator of Florida, we understand that visiting a dentist for the first time can be a nerve-wracking experience. That’s why we strive to make our patients feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible during their first visit.

During your first visit, we will begin with a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums, taking X-rays if necessary. This helps us better understand your oral health and identify any potential issues that may require treatment.

Next, our dental team will talk with you about your oral health history and any concerns or questions you may have. We take great care in listening to our patients, addressing their concerns, and providing recommendations for the best course of action based on their unique oral health needs.

Depending on your individual circumstances, we may also perform a routine cleaning during your first visit to remove any plaque or tartar buildup from your teeth. Our team will also provide you with useful tips and advice for maintaining good oral health at home, including recommendations for healthy eating habits and proper brushing and flossing techniques.

Financing & Insurance

We want dental care to be accessible to all of our patients, regardless of their financial situation. We recognize that not everyone has access to dental insurance or may have coverage that is limited in scope. To ensure that our patients can receive the care they need, we offer a range of financing options.

For patients with dental insurance, we are in-network with Delta Dental (only for Dr. Sophia Villaneuva patients). Additionally, we accept a variety of out-of-network dental insurance plans, and we work with your insurance company to file claims and maximize benefits.

For those without dental insurance or those whose coverage is insufficient, we offer Prima, CareCredit, and Lending Club financing options, in addition to traditional credit cards. Our financing options ensure that our patients can receive the dental care they need without having to worry about the financial strain.

We firmly believe that nobody should have to sacrifice their dental health because of financial limitations. Our goal is to make dental care affordable and accessible for everyone, and we are committed to providing our patients with the resources they need to achieve and maintain optimal oral health.

What To Do In An Emergency

If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, it’s important to act quickly to minimize pain and prevent further damage. If you’re in severe pain or have facial swelling or bleeding, call your nearest office right away and explain your symptoms. They may suggest over-the-counter pain relief medicine while you wait to see them.

In the meantime, take measures to alleviate discomfort such as using a cold compress on the affected area, rinsing your mouth with warm saltwater, and avoiding hard or crunchy foods. If a tooth has been knocked out, try to keep it moist by storing it in milk or saliva and quickly getting to your dentist’s office.

Remember that taking care of your oral health is critical to your overall health, and prompt action during a dental emergency can help maintain wellness and avoid further complications.
